The Simone Weber case took place during the summer of 1985 when Bernard Hettier’s disappearance was declared. His daughter, who warned the authorities about her father, mentions the name of Simone Weber, whom she suspects. Simone’s neighbors mentioned a heavy noise coming from something hitting the ground, then the noise of a vacuum cleaner in the apartment above, as well as her trips outside with many garbage bags, After investigating, the police discovered that she may have poisoned her first husband to inherit his fortune. In cahoots with her sister Madeleine, with whom she sometimes communicates with code names, Simone Weber is accused of no less than 14 crimes and misdemeanors. Despite an investigation that lasts 6 years, during which Simone is in prison, we do not have any formal proof of her guilt. The use of DNA research did not happen until a few years later.
I play with the already existing story to dissect it, to bring out certain elements that caught my attention.
Here the crime exists through photographs and archives, it exists within a well-defined framework. However, 36 years later, the whole story evolved, changed, and redefined itself over time.
